As netizens reacted to the bust, some users shared a Facebook post from 2016 featuring a picture of Mr Premchai among other men in a forest. Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak said the case will not affect state construction projects which ITD has been contracted to undertake. Addressing Mr Premchai's case, Kesara Manchusree, president of the Stock Exchange of Thailand, said while the Securities and Exchange Act does not cover offences relating to Mr Premchai's case, there remain questions over moral integrity and appropriateness. Finance Minister Apisak Tantivorawong said Mr Premchai's case involves personal conduct and is not covered by the Securities and Exchange Commission's regulations. Meanwhile, police on carried out further probes into Mr Premchai and his group.
